Ss John Fisher and Thomas More made a fantastic return to school sport for 2021-22 taking part in eleven different sports across the year!

The autumn term began with a huge success, as Charlie Dugdill, one of our year six pupils, finished in 2nd place in the Wythenshawe cross-country competition. He was later invited to the CityWide finals, where he finished in 10th place out of 74 runners! On Saturday 5th February, he represented Manchester at the Greater Manchester Primary School’s cross-country finals. Well done Charlie.

Following on from this success, we also took part in two very enjoyable competitions: tag rugby and dodgeball. In both competitions, we reached the CityWide finals for demonstrating excellent School Games Values, voted for by competing schools.

During Spring 2022, our Y6 basketballers successfully reached the CityWide finals again for showing exemplary sportsmanship and teamwork throughout the competition. We have also kick-started our football season playing against Baguley Hall Primary School, Benchill Primary School and Newall Green Primary School.

Other competitions attended across the year included:

  • Athletics
  • Hi-5
  • Hockey
  • Netball
  • Rounders

In other news, our Year Six pupils thoroughly enjoyed their Outdoor Adventurous Activity in Ghyll Head up in the Lake District.

We also loved our annual summer sports day!

We can’t wait for some of the future competitions that we have planned for 2022-23…
